Back in Cairo

Hey hey hey... how I've missed you all! It was kind of cool to be disconnected from the world for a bit, but I admit I did miss my laptop and TV, LOL!

Well we had an excellent time away. It was a very spiritual time and I could not have asked for anything better. Really I am rejuvenated.

We have an appointment to see Dr. K on Monday afternoon. We will check to be sure that all is cool and I think we will find out if our Superbaby is a boy or a girl. My father says a boy and is so sure, so we'll see if he's right. Either way its all good, just a healthy baby is all we wish for.

Tomorrow I will be 18 weeks, just two more to go to make it to 5 months, can you believe it? I can't.

I am feeling good though. All is good. No complaints and God Willing all is good in my pregnant belly.

I have so much catching up to do with all of you. I signed up for May's IComLeavWe, but totally spaced that I would not have internet access, so I'm sorry but plan to visit some of you anyway. Thanks to those of you who stopped by.

So just a quick update and wanted to say how I've missed you all! Talk soon. xoxoxo

We're Off

Well people we are off early tomorrow morning for about 10 days with

There are so many blogs I want to keep up with, actually all of yours, and I know there will be some announcements I will not know about until we return. I will just have to wait patiently and really catch up when we get back.

I am especially on alert for Murgdan at Conceive This, she should deliver her little guy any minute now. Be sure to visit her and congratulate her on little Murgdan as soon as he arrives.

Then there's Fran at Everyone Else But Me, she just got a positive home pregnancy test and will take her beta tomorrow. Be sure to stop by and show her some love, she soooo deserves it.

Oh and hey Lynne (Miss Dyslexic), so good to hear from you. I tried to email you back but your profile is not enabled. If you want send me an email and I will get back to you when I get back.

The rest of you I will miss all of your blogs, if I listed you all this would take up the entire length of my homepage, LOL. So know I love you and will miss you and will catch up when I get back.

Take good care of the blogosphere... I miss you all already.  xoxo

Update on headaches

Hey thanks a million for all your suggestions. I woke up without a headache, yeah!

This morning I did have a half cup of coffee (Nescafe) not very strong and I will buy some acetaminaphine or paracetemol tonight just in case.

I guess its part of being pregnant and you know what its ok. So ok man. I just wanted to be sure it was normal.

I will be four months, 16 weeks tomorrow and my stomach has popped ladies. I think I look officially pregnant now, and I am lovin' it! No more zippering or buttoning my pants and thats where my amazing Bella Bands come in. Can I just say how awesome they are? I know I have said it before but I am such a fan. So easy, so comfortable and they rock!

When, what week should I do the Gestional diabetes screen? I am sure Dr. K will tell me, but he hasn't yet. I also know from a few of you that they say not to fast, but some of you have said to fast. School me again my lovely genuises who I heart so much! xoxoxo

Headaches 15w6d

Ok here's the deal. I have been having headaches for the past two days. I thought they would pass so I did not call Dr. K. Well now he's travelling and Dr. Google isn't much help, what should I do? I will be 16 weeks tomorrow.

I read about stress causing them, no stress here. Really.

Read cause could be due to high blood pressure, last time I checked it was perfect, I will check it again today though.

Some people take Darvocet, um not an option for me. I have never been good with narcotics. Extra strength Tylenol? Paracetamol?

I never suffered from headaches before being pregnant, so they are strange for me.

Its 5:30am here and I went to bed with a headache and woke up with same the feeling. Its like I feel it in my eyes.

Please tell me this is normal. Tell me that you had them in your second trimester and tell me what worked for you.

I am currently taking my prenatal vitamin, some folic acid and a low dose aspirin daily.

We are leaving Monday and I so do not want to have to deal with these monster headaches while I'm gone. They really suck man and I can deal with them, its only been two days, but I cannot imagine these daily like this for much longer.

I am going back to bed, hopefully you genuises will have some good advice for me when I wake up. I mean genuises like for real, you guys rock!

The Celebratory Society

Celebratory Soceity

Think of this as the most interesting delurking project you'll ever participate in. You can understand the project in full by clicking here, but briefly, the Celebratory Society is an online festschrift for a blogger- a way for you to tell me what my blog or actions mean to you.

But this isn't about me- this is about you too. I would love it if you returned to your own blog, started your own Celebratory Society post, added it to the main project list, and give me the opportunity to tell you

The fabulous Mel, a.k.a. Lollipop Goldstein at Stirrup Queens, who I like to think of as our Online Fairy Godmother, came up with this, and like all of her projects this one too is brilliant.

So go on, comment and tell me what this blog of mine means to you. Tell me how reading Wishing4One has transformed your life, kidding. Seriously what do you think of me and my blog, go ahead leave a comment. If this is your first time here read a few posts and tell me what you think.

Know that I love you all dearly. This blog for the past 4+ years has made my life so much more peaceful and so many of you have helped keep me sane in this crazy sea of infertility. I have made so many many wonderful online friends and I wish you could all come to Cairo and we could hang out.  I truly, truly heart you all. Now go on leave me some luv.

Perfect Moment Monday: 15w2d ultrasound

Superbaby is well!!! Heart beating, growing right on target, brain developing, all limbs in place and the right sizes... woo hoo!

SUCH a relief for now.

Dr. K would not swear by it, but thinks MAYBE its a boy. We should be able to tell for sure next ultrasound. When he was scaning "that area" at first he said a girl, then moved the belly wand a bit and was like "um, maybe a boy..." so we wait and see.

Superbaby was not being very photogenic today at.all. Below is a pic, not very good (head is towards left side of pic). I am in love though for real.

So now I travel happy. Perfect indeed.

Our Superbaby, amazing man i swear!

Happy Mother's Day 2010

Well isn't this the day that so many of us dread? Those of us that have tried for so long to become a Mother are bombarded with scenes and reminders of the second Sunday in May each year. I know its tough and I feel you today for real.

This year its a mix of emotions for me. As most of you know I lost one of my twins at about 10 weeks. Today I am 15w1d with one baby, as far as I know. I want to celebrate Mother's Day for the first time in my life, but I am cautious.

Here in Egypt Mother's Day has passed, it was March 21st. But being an American I am partial to celebrating US holidays as well, no matter where I am.

But DO I celebrate today? And if so what do I do? I am thinking the e-card I sent my Mom is celebration enough and I will just spend a quiet day of internal reflection on how this just may be an awesome day for me next year. We'll see.

Our travel plans have been delayed. We are not leaving as originally planned on the 10th or 11th. Probably leaving around the 15th or so. I know you want to know where we are going and when we get back I will share, promise. Its a very important trip, one planned for so long and I just want to be sure we get there before I share details. Aren't you even MORE interested now?

Dr. K is travelling too. His last day of work before he leaves is tomorrow, working until 5pm. So between now and then I will decide if I'll go in for an ultrasound. I am leaning towards going and so many of you have helped me decide that. I too, am like you and want to have a piece of mind that all is cool while we're gone. Then another part of me thinks, just go and focus and enjoy yourself and God Willing all will be ok when you get back. We'll see about this too.

To those of you who are so fortunate and lucky to be Mothers, Happy Mother's Day. For those of you long to be a Mom, like me, let us hope one day soon this will be a day of celebration for us too one day. Cue in violin music now...

Travelling kitties

Haven't felt much like blogging lately, no reason really. Maybe as there is not alot going on these days? Anyway hi again. I am still pregnant as far as I know, will be 15 weeks on Saturday. Still haven't decided about next ultrasound, will post about it later.

Naranja has been gone for four days. Her babies were here outside in the house and since she's been gone we have been feeding them. I am sure something happened to Naranja as she would not abandon her babies at this young age of almost 6 weeks. She was always with them, even if she wandered about she would always come right back.

A British friend of ours came to visit yesterday. She lives in Luxor.  She mentioned to me that her friend, another British expat who lives in Luxor, was looking for two kittens. I asked her to call and see if she was willing to take our three babies. She was. She has a huge property there and they will have a great home.

So off they were last night for a 10 hour train ride to South Egypt in their carrier. My friend is such an animal lover, more of dogs, but took such good care of them on the journey. I sent her with milk, some shredded cheese, and she fed them some chicken, she shredded finely,  that she was served for dinner (she's a vegan).

She texted me along the way and when she arrived in Luxor to let me know they were at their new home.

I feel so happy that they have a good, loving new home, but cried last night as I miss them, they were our connection to Fajita (Naranja). We may never know what happened to her, but we miss her so.
