Cause its all about child safety here in Cairo.

Bravely taken by me, after yelling at this kid yesterday in Ismailia Square, Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt.

  2. Well, I suppose that's one way to get around - but it definitely doesn't look safe...

  3. After I yelled at this kid, he responded to me "I am only going two stops..." Oh ok then, that makes riding this way ok. Nice and safe kid, smart.

  6. Yikes. I'll never forget, one time in Cairo I saw so many people hanging out the side of a bus that it was literally leaning over - and gasoline was pouring out of the tank! (No gas cap of course...)

  7. That's really scary. I wonder how will his parents react if they see their kids doing that?

  8. Hokey dinah! That kid has some serious cahones! If anyone tried that here I'm sure they'd be arrested in a heartbeat. *shaking my head in disbelief*

  9. Oh my goodness!!! Awesome picture, but what was that guy thinking?!?

  10. Safety first indeed. They think it's fun and don't realize how dangerous it is. Sadly such views are often seen in my country too. Bad transportation and lack of discipline are the main cause.

    Happy WW!

  14. Nice to see you again. Good for you! All kids require yelling at once in a while especially teen-agers and young adults who tend to feel immortal and don't realize there are things worse than death like surviving being badly mangled under a train :{

  16. I remember seeing a kid in a sailor hat doing the same thing on the back of a bus in Brooklyn when I was little girl. My mother said to me "He'll be lucky if he doesn't get killed!" I was really scared. This brought back that memory. I don't think I've seen a bus with that kind of fender recently.
