Life during an IVF cycle

I had to laugh.

Super S was online with his friend  (in USA) and they were playing guitar, improvising together while Super S recorded on his computer and then they play it back, do it again, etc. They do this almost daily, its so cute and it makes him so happy.

So I call to Super S and tell him he needs to do my injections.

He says to his friend "listen I"ll be right back, I have to do something..."

So he comes here, where I am, prepares injections, all this while we listen in the other room to friend playing music.

Friend has no clue, Super S is humming as he prepares injections, its a scene man.

I told him thank you. Thank you for doing all this everyday, for taking care of the extras this cycle, IViG, additional meds for immune etc. He says, "Don't thank me, thank God. It will not be the IViG or anything else, it is all up to God." He sweetly told me to remember that.

Have I told you how lucky am I? A start to a perfect day indeed.

  1. That's wonderful - he might be attributing it all to God, be he still is the one sticking the needle in.

I know God's smiling on you both..

  2. What a guy :) Not that you need them (you are so wonderfully positive already), but I'm sending lots of positive thoughts your way for this cycle! So excited for you!

From reading about this stuff for so long (and my own RE appts), I thought I had all the acronyms down but you are using some I don't understand (IViG, for example). Would you mind doing a post about what all the acronyms for your particular protocol stand for so I can follow along better? It could just be differences between countries. But, I apologize if I sound dumb!

  5. The scene with Super S improvising and recording on his computer reminds me of my Babe. He's suck a cool geek in a way! LOL! I'm glad your hubby is so supportive and doing your shots for you. I have and will be doing my own shots. Except for the trigger shot which will be IM. I don't think I can handle doing my own IM shot!

  7. @ Baby On Mind: HCG shots are approved to be given IM. But a study proved that subcutaneous is JUST as effective. You can give your HCG in the abdomen within the subcutaneous with a tiny needle (unlike the IM needles). The medication tends to leave a red mark for a few days, but that's about it. We do it that way for all our patients using gonadotropin therapy. Ask your RE about it and see what they say.
@Wishing: I love the positive energy in the house. He really is Super.

  8. Definitely sounds like a fantastic husband. I love how he just came and did your injections without a care in the world. He sounds like he is really helping to keep your spirits up! I like your photo at top of the blog too :)
