If I was doing IVF in the USA...

I would be doing it at SIRM - St. Louis. Why?

Because of Dr. Peter Ahlerling.

I just want to tell you that I have never been to SIRM St. Louis nor met Dr. Ahlerling.

Dr. Ahlerling has been more than gracious in answering a few questions I had via email. He did not have to do that, but he did.

So IF we are ever to do IVF in the States I am so there. But we won't have to right as we will be pregnant in a few weeks after IVF number 4 in Cairo, more to come on this soon...

I wanted to share this with all of you in case you are looking for a good IVF Center in the United States. They have such a great reputation and for me, not even being a patient and getting such wonderful responses via email from Dr. Ahlelrling says alot. Imagine if you are a patient?!

Again, thank you Dr. Ahlerling for sending me such great information and for being so helpful to me!

  1. As I´m a really curious person, I went to PeterAhleringmd.com, and found aboust about improving egg quality. Where he talks about antioxidants, have been shown ( early evidents) to improve egg quality. I drank like 1/2 L or more each day of fresh berry juice (http://www.theberrycompany.co.uk/ambient_range.html) before and during IVF. Was hooked on it for some months.
I would therefore recommend eating a lot of berries if you can get them in Cairo.
Will at least not hurt :) Taste delicous and probably a good effect on the eggs, at least great effect on the heart.
I had read something about this with regards to antioxidants and male infertility and therefore went crazy with the berries for me and DH.(I think I read all I found on infertility in the science papers I have access to).

  2. Thanks babygaga.... I actually bought a Super Antioxidant supplement while I was in US and Dr. Ahlerling suggested I start taking it now, I am. I will try to find berries here too, why not they taste great and can't hurt right?

  5. I've often posted my Need Answers NOW! questions on the SIRM message boards. Dr. Sher can be a bit full of himself sometimes, but he's knowledgeable. Dr. Ahlerling has answered a few of my questions and I'm always so appreciative of the time and consideration he puts into his responses.

But no - you won't need to work with him or plan an IVF#5. The next one HAS to work! It just HAS to! (((hugs)))

  6. I loved him too...and I'm glad he's proven useful.

I agree with Kymberli, though - you won't need to consult with him again, because #4 will work!

  8. I love Dr. Ahlering! He is fantastic!!! A friend of mine has a 1 year old son from IVF using his clinic. I have consulted with him and had an initial appointment with him but went with another clinic because of their embryo donor program. If we were to use our own eggs and sperm I would certainly go to SIRM.

Good luck with your next IVF!

  9. Good luck with #4!!!

How awesome that he answered your emails without you being a patient! I once had a doctor tell me she would no longer take my phone calls because she didn't get paid for them.
