Domino's Pizza Cairo, Egypt

I think i ate pizza from Dominos like once when we lived in the US. We had our little neighborhood pizzeria that we always ordered from, a large cheese and 50 wings... man do I miss that!

But here, we usually get pizza from a local, non-US chain. And since Papa John's SUCKS and Pizza Hut is well just that, Pizza Hut, no difference from the US really, we decided to try Domino's for a change from our usual.

Here's our Egyptian Domino's pizzas.

Veggie Feast (green peppers, onions, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, black olives and jalapenos)

A slice of each. Aren't they cute, so tiny...

Deluxe Feast (Beef pepperoni, beef italian sausage, green peppers, mushrooms and onions).

The verdict...

We got two large, as we like to save for lunch the next day or sometimes a snack later, and they had a special for two large and a soda. These pizzas were like small sized mediums.

Could it be that we are used to American LARGE, no. Other pizza places here we ordered from had a decent sized large.

Maybe the photos don't show the acurate size, actually they look ok in the pics, but i swear to you, these were THE smallest larges we have ever seen, we laughed until we finished both of them.

Taste, not too bad. Will we order again from DomiNO's, um NO.

Oh Super S went up on the roof after we ate, snapped the picture below just before sunset...

And to those of you here from ICLW, welcome!!! Aren't you glad you stopped by for this exciting Friday review? Thanks, I know you'll be back soon.

  1. It seems to me that it is the same large size that is available at dominos Iceland, 16". But the picture might be bluffing.

I got a shock when I went to the US and bought a medium size of coke and a medium size pop corn at the movies, it was huge. Like the XXL size at home :D

  2. You know I should have put something next to the pizzas when I took the pics, to show size. They were more like 12 inch mediums you get in US I guess.

  3. Domino's is always so disappointing. I guess it doesn't matter what country you live in :)

Love the sunset pic - very lovely. Oh how I miss palm trees.

Btw, thanks for your comments on my blog! I appreciate the support!

  4. I love their overly greasy slightly weird tasting cheese bread. I can feel my arteries screaming as I eat it. We rarely get Domino's, we usually go for Papa Murphy's take n' bake or make our own.
Does it taste the same? I've heard when you go to other countries and try 'American' fare it's not the same, just like we bastardize ethnic food here sometimes.
    What a beautiful sunset!

I love it. Thanksf for sharing your story. It looks like it's been a rough and long IF road for you. I'm really hoping success is around the corner for you!

  7. I have always had a hard time with Domino's pizza. My favorite is a place up in the mountians in Idaho called Whistle Stop Cafe. Homemade EVERYTHING! SO delicious!

I'm glad you were able to have a good laugh... and an amazing sunset at that!

  8. That is neat to be able to see the pizza box in a differnet language and the difference between the pizzas in us and there. thanks for sharing.

  9. Dominos is pretty crap, but I am totally jealous of the beef pepperoni. I love pepperoni, but Al doesn't do swine, so I only get it on rare occasions when he's not around.

  10. I've never had a domino's pizza and thought to myself afterwards, "I'm glad I ate that! That was a good use of my time, calories and money!" lol I do, however, like Papa John's pizza. haha

It must be so interesting living in Egypt. I've always lived in the Midwestern US, so it seems exotic and exciting!

Hopefully you'll be able to get your schedule figured out for your next IVF cycle! Good luck!

  11. I'm not a fan of Domino's either. We like this local joint (or they could be a chain, I don't know!) called Papa Murphy's. They make the pizza but don't cook it and you take it home and bake it yourself. Very good!

And what a beautiful sunset picture!
