Don't Know

Beta came in at just 24.

Called my doctor and he told me, the references for pregnancy depend on the lab, i.e. this lab references pregnancies like this:

1 week: 5-50 mIU/ml
1-2 weeks: 50-500 mIU/ml
2-3 weeks: 100 - 5000 mIU/ml and on and on.

My numbers should be at least in the 1-2 week range I think. I am 13 days post transfer.

Anyway doctor said he has seen successful pregnancies at my stage with first beta from 7 - 25. Thanks Dr. K, i feel better. He means well really.

I am not giving up hope though, not quite yet.

I will retest on Saturday, Friday if the lab is open. ( Fridays here are like a weekend, some places are closed.)

Who knows huh?

  4. I still have faith!!

I don't put too much thought in the first number. It's the second number that is important. I am praying that your number doubles as it should.

    Sending you some sticky vibes.

  5. This is a note from D in AZ, my mother who had 2 IVF successes said that she wanted to tell you about the first one. Hopefully this is to offer you a little encouragement about the whole process.

When she had her first blood test (about day 13 after transfer), her level was 40. However, 2 days later is was 30 and the doctor was very perplexed because if pregnancy had occured, it should have at least doubled or at least increased. He couldn't understand because he said that if she wasn't pregnant, the number would be around 20. It then went up to 50 (and didn't even double) about 17 days after the transfer. At that point the doctor declared she must have been pregnant and chalked it up to a late implantation.

Just wanted you to know--hang in there and insha'allah these numbers are only misleading. We're both thinking about you.

  17. I know others have said this, but, it really is entirely possible that it's a late implanter. My beta on this pregnancy was only a 33 and we actually conceived twins (which I haven't really talked about), but, lost one. That may have done some wonky things with the levels. I have every hope and wish for you that your second beta doubles beautifully!!!
