yes 12 years and no kids....

hey lovers...yes I am still here and been bad in blogging, I know.

had my first day of work yesterday, no kids just teachers, went well. seems we have a nice group of teachers which is cool. principal seems to be awesome which is very exciting. she is very demanding and organized which I love actually so this is great.

i have to get myself on a good schedule. i am used to staying up late, sleeping in late and that is not going to work now is it?

i took a little nap when i got home yesterday, like 2 hours, felt better after. then, planned to sleep early, didn't happen. one cool thing is they pick me each day, so no driving in this crazy cairo city, i love that. I just have to walk a few minutes from my house to their bus, very very cool.

anyway, i will play around with my sleeping schedule in these days, it will work out, just been awhile , eh um, three years, since I had a job, so will take a bit to get back into the swing of things.

many of teachers yesterday were discussing thier children of course, and when it came to me, "yes I am married, 12 years actually, yeah I know, no kids yet...." so once again it'll be FUN times. no really, it's cool, everyone was very nice and i know its just one of those things that come up in small talk, I am sooooo used to it.

here a few pics from our latest pyramids and cairo tower adventure, love you guys and talk soon. xoxoxoxox

I have to say this again, You are one tough cookie to take up a job with kids. It is not something that I can do. Too many kids drive me mad!!!

  3. Good luck with the new job once the kids show up! And extra good luck with having to start waking up early again. That was my absolute least favorite part of teaching - having to be there at 7am. Yech.

  4. Just about everyone I talk to walks away knowing about IFV. Somehow it always comes up. Spread the word thats what I say.

Congrats again on the new gig. Good luck with juggling the sleeping schedule.

  5. I bet you'll love your job. Just think- you get to socialize all day. You'll work out your schedule; it just may take a few days!

So, do you ride on those camels? That is so amazing. Just absolutely amazing!

  10. Good luck with the new job..teaching has to be the hardest job there is. I have a lot of respect for teachers. Sounds like you'll have an inquisitive bunch to work with (other teachers). Sorry for all the awkward talk. You do a good job of taking it in stride, though I know it has to be so hard. Awesome photos! Thanks for sharing.

  11. I am freaking jealous! I have been obsessed with the Ancient Egyptians since I was a kid. I have a god (Khepera) tattooed on my shoulder. I have statuettes and books all over my house. I have a wish that before I die I get to go and touch a pyramid. You are so lucky!

  12. Wow, awesome pics! We were in Cairo for a day in December and went to see the pyramids - you don't realize how huge they are until you see them in person - it's pretty amazin.g

How do you get used to the questions? Sigh...I don't know if I ever will...they seem to slap me in the face every time.

  13. heeellllooooo!??!!

Need an update on your first week of work :) When do you get the kids for the first time?

Dumb question, I'm sure...what language is mainly spoken there? I can't imagine teaching in a different country ~ you are my idol! :)

  14. It took me 12 years to reach motherhood, after 2 miscarriages, 2 ectopic pregnancies, 3 IUI & 3 IVF. It seems to me that infertility is everywhere. In my school, 3 teachers (including myself) & 2 secretaries have dealt with IF. That's why being open about our struggle is so important. We never know when somebody else shares this pain.

Cairo sounds exciting! Two of my colleagues have worked there.

    good luck with treatments!

  15. As always, the pictures are lovely. Love the camels.

Don't you just hate those questions...those horrid prying questions. People just don't get it.
