Showin and Tellin a Drive By

Be sure to check out who else is Showing and Telling today too. There is always so many great things that people share, I always look forward to reading about them each Sunday.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So as some of you know our friends were here this week, just for four days as part of their honeymoon.

They were staying at a hotel near to the pyramids, which is on the West side of Cairo and we live on the East side; not a long drive time-wise, maybe 30-45 minutes, but traffic here is UNBELIEVABLE and beyond crazy ALL THE TIME.

We have something here they call the Ring Road, which loops around the city making it easier to get around and avoid city traffic. So thats what we took when going to pick up our friends.

As we were driving I looked out my window and saw this:

Even after three years of living here I still get amazed. Oh i don't know, just driving down the road, and oh look theres the pyramids, stil seems so surreal.

So I leave you with some pictures, all taken from the road.... which still amazes me everday.

When you stop longing so badly and come to rest, nature will solve it by itself; I know myself...
Welcome also to my world here in Bloglandia.
It is not easy to find intresting people from Egypt...so I am happy I came across your pages.
    Happy Sunday

  8. As I looked at the photos, I saw the amazing pyramids first and looked even more closely at the photos. I thought, "Surely there's something else. She probably sees those pyramids every day!" Glad to know that you appreciate your surroundings and what they have to offer.

Sounds like the weather in Dallas, Texas will be similar to Cairo in the upcoming weeks. But we don't have pyramids!

  13. How amazing is that!!!

My husband went to Cairo for a few days for work some time last year. And he didn't see any sights!!! Since he's military it's all old news to him (his words, not mine). I told him next time he goes somewhere so amazing that he has to at least go see some sights for me. Haha!

  18. I will someday get the chance to come and visit my dear friend. Maybe, I will be lucky enough to bring my girls. Maybe, we can plan for Aimee's 16th birthday. I know that's far away but it's something to dream for. These pictures are great. I love and miss you girl. Thinking of you everyday. Annette
